About me
People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons, and I don't assume that there is one right way to understand what someone is going through. What matters to me is creating a space where we can be curious together about your experience and what has brought you here.
I believe the relationship between therapist and client is central to meaningful therapeutic work. When there is enough trust and safety, it can become possible to get closer to our experience and understand ourselves in ways that feel different from simply thinking things through alone.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years working in professional environments. Those experiences gave me a close understanding of high-pressure cultures: the expectation to perform, succeed and remain resilient, the impact of stress and burnout, and the ways work can shape our sense of self and spill into relationships and life outside it.
Alongside this, volunteering within my community also gave me a broader perspective on the challenges people face, particularly around isolation, displacement, inequality and access to support. It reminded me that the difficulties we bring to therapy are shaped not only by our personal histories, but also by the circumstances and communities we live within.
My clinical experience includes working within NHS Talking Therapies and longer-term counselling placements, supporting adults with a wide range of experiences including anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties and significant life changes.
I welcome adults from all backgrounds, identities and life experiences. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming and gender affirming, culturally aware and informed by anti-oppressive values. I aim to approach questions of identity and difference with openness, curiosity and respect.
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
